Wow you've all got some amazing stories guys! It's so nice to see so many other people get moved by fighting. Very Happy
Well I can say fighting change my life COMPLETELY too! at one point I'm an ignorant asshole going around not knowing what the hell I'm doing and as soon as I start training my fighting skills I get like this complete selfconfidence in me that changes me completely. So yeah It's like a "lifesaver" to me Very Happy
MY SPORT STORY is mostly Kickboxing and also different Russian martial arts. I really like Russian fighting style's because It's very militant and there has always been a part of me that's been very fascinated by that sort of thing...dunno why LOL Smile
Oh and I play Hardball too so might have something to do with that Laughing

Yeah, that's why I don't understand why some people are so against combat sports - they have the power to change peoples lives. By the way, what's Hardball? Sorry, don't have that in SA, lol.

I think people see fighting and hurting people and think it only can be bad. I don't understand why. It's much more 'civilized' than soccer for instance, since in fighting you have made an agreement to hurt each other, while with soccer they just try to take your leg of with a sliding if you've passed them one too many times.

And there's the whole lifesaver thing and it's an outlet and whatnot. People just don't understand it for some reason

Yeah people have a hard time understanding when I say fighting is the best thing that's ever happened to me.
They always see it as some sort of unnecessary violence that should be avoided when there is actually something much deeper to it.
Btw Hardball is a sport were you run around with guns that shoot plastic bullets while wearing masks on. All the guns you use are made from real ones that actually exist(mine is an MP5 with Red-dot sight and double magazin). It can feel pretty realistic when you play with professionels and it's a nice way to practice Tactical teamwork and modern combat without it actually being war (although I have gotten pretty hurt in many matches). But it's a nice thing to have besides fighting Very Happy

Yeah it defently is entertaining. I've played it for about 5 years now and I actually started playing it around the same time I started fighting Surprised
And well what can I say. This forum is defently also one of the greatest discoveries I've ever made. It is such a wonderful thing to see that there are people here that can actually understand you better than most other people can and that you have so much in common with them. So I'm so happy to have met you all it really makes me wanna smile Very Happy

Well, last period MMA was supposed to be for males, but instead was for females. And this period it is also for females, not for males. So I still can't take the MMA course Sad Kickboxing is on fridays, meaning I would have to miss half the classes. Or more, since it starts at like 3pm. So that sucks. However, this period they do also offer a 10 week (10 classes) Systema course. So I've enrolled for that now. Unless a whole lotta people sign in, I will start it the 2nd week of Feb or something. Hopefully it'll be somewhat good...

Gina and MMA never fails to inspire me, over christmas I had a relapse and I still (fingers crossed) pulled through to get better and stronger. Each fall makes me more determined....just hope I have had my final fall.
